Fairhaven Homes was thrilled to be a part of the No Reserve Charity Home Auction in partnership with Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision, with a brand new, fully furnished Fairhaven Home up for bidding. As the event’s name suggests, the auction for the home has no reserve — plus, the winning sum went directly to Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision. Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision is a charity dedicated to raising awareness and providing funding for research and treatments to support the fight against Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.
The result on the day
The hammer went down on the No Reserve Charity Home Auction on Saturday 26 March 2022 — the final result? The 2-storey, fully furnished house sold for $750,000!
The home itself was a 4 Bedroom, Fairhaven Homes Mayfield 219 build in Clyde North’s Orana community by Balcon Group. In addition, the home came fully furnished and landscaped with over $100,000 worth of extras included. It’s safe to say that the buyers were overjoyed with their new home and to be a part of this important event.
The entire donation value of $750,000 went directly to Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision to help more Australians to #FightLikeMaddie. Currently the charity organisation is working towards the first gene therapy clinical trial for Australian patients who have Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.
Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision
Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision is the legacy of Maddie Riewoldt, who was only 26 years old when she died of complications of a Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome called Aplastic Anaemia. Sadly, of the approximately 160 Australians diagnosed with Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes each year, the majority are children and young adults.
Determined that nobody else go through what she had to, Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision was founded by her family in 2015 to find new treatments and cures in the hope that everyone has the chance to lead a long, happy life.
A team effort
The Fairhaven Homes team did an exceptional job in getting the build complete in amazing time. With covid lockdowns to navigate along with material supply shortages, a big congratulations to all who helped to bring the home to life for such a great cause. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to all contributing partners, trades and suppliers, with more than 70 involved who all ensured this was made possible. It is through coming together that we can make the biggest difference for those who need it most.
It’s not every day you get to be a part of raising $750,000 for charity and we are so grateful to have been able to be a part of this endeavour for a worthwhile cause.
Make your home journey a reality with Fairhaven Homes.
